London Fashion week 2018, first for fur-free, a catalyst of sustainability in one of the biggest fashion cities. No wonder opening fashion week was BFC Newgen award winner, Richard Malone, his work setting standards high, with Silk sourced from one of the most sustainable places in the world. The Silk manipulated into two pieces, cinched by drawstring along with balloon sleeves- an 80’s power move seen in other collections such as Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Simone Rocha.

NYFW: Simplicity is Beautiful

The first fashion week of the SS19 season was filled with simple silhouettes and simple palettes and was simply beautiful. If NYFW is a sign of things to come then it looks like the excess of previous seasons is out and a newer simplified look has arrived.

Gender in Fashion: Just Why?

Gender and fashion seem inseparable, they are intertwined closer than Anna Wintour and American Vogue, womenswear and menswear is as guaranteed as fake Louis Vuitton in fashion. But why? Now that gender has become such a hot topic, is it time for fashion to take a long hard look in the mirror and ask why it places so much importance on gender? Or will it just cover-up the problem with enough make-up and hope the question disappears?
